My Statement of Faith

1. The Holy Scriptures

I believe that the Holy Bible, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is God’s complete revelation to humanity and is the supreme standard for my faith, doctrine, conduct, and Christian living. The Scriptures are trustworthy in all they affirm and are sufficient for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training me in righteousness.

Scriptures: 2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Psalm 119:105; Hebrews 4:12.

2. The One True God

I believe there is one eternal God, the Creator of heaven and earth, who exists eternally in three distinct but equal Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one in essence, power, glory, and majesty, worthy of all my worship and obedience.

Scriptures: Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Isaiah 45:5–6.

3. God the Father

I believe God the Father is sovereign over all creation. He is holy, righteous, loving, merciful, faithful, and just. I believe He desires that all people come to repentance and has provided salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Scriptures: John 3:16; Ephesians 4:6; James 1:17; Psalm 103:13.

4. Jesus Christ

I believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, proclaimed the Kingdom of God, died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of humanity, was buried, rose bodily from the dead on the third day, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father where He intercedes for believers. I believe He will return personally, visibly, and gloriously to establish His everlasting Kingdom.

Scriptures: John 1:1–14; Matthew 1:18–25; Isaiah 53; Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:9–11; Hebrews 7:25.

5. The Holy Spirit

I believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and actively works in the world and in the Church. He convicts people of sin, regenerates those who believe, indwells every believer, sanctifies, empowers me for holy living and service, distributes spiritual gifts according to His will, and produces the fruit of Christlike character.

Scriptures: John 14:16–17; John 16:7–13; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9–16; Galatians 5:22–23; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11.

6. Creation

I believe that God created the heavens, the earth, and everything in them by His sovereign power. I believe humanity was created in the image of God as male and female, with dignity, purpose, and responsibility to glorify God and steward His creation.

Scriptures: Genesis 1–2; Psalm 24:1; Colossians 1:16–17.

7. Humanity and Sin

I believe that all people are created in God’s image but that through Adam’s disobedience sin entered the world. I believe every person is born with a sinful nature and has sinned against God. As a result, humanity is separated from God and incapable of saving itself apart from His grace.

Scriptures: Genesis 3; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1–3.

8. Salvation

I believe salvation is the free gift of God’s grace, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone. It cannot be earned through human effort or good works. I believe that those who trust in Christ are forgiven, justified, adopted into God’s family, regenerated by the Holy Spirit, and granted eternal life.

Scriptures: John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:9–10; Titus 3:5–7.

9. Sanctification and Holy Living

I believe I am called to a life of holiness and continual spiritual growth. Through the power of the Holy Spirit and obedience to God’s Word, I am transformed into the likeness of Christ and called to demonstrate love, integrity, purity, humility, forgiveness, and good works.

Scriptures: 1 Peter 1:15–16; Romans 12:1–2; Hebrews 12:14; Galatians 5:16–25.

10. The Church

I believe the Church is the Body of Christ, made up of all believers in Jesus Christ. Christ is the Head of the Church. I believe the Church exists to worship God, preach the Gospel, make disciples, administer biblical ordinances, encourage believers, demonstrate God’s love, and serve the world.

Scriptures: Matthew 28:18–20; Ephesians 1:22–23; Acts 2:42–47.

11. The Ordinances

I believe Christ established two ordinances for the Church:

  • Water Baptism by immersion as a public testimony of repentance, faith, and identification with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.
  • The Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion) as a continual remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice until He returns.

I believe these ordinances do not save but are acts of obedience commanded by Christ.

Scriptures: Matthew 28:19–20; Romans 6:3–4; Luke 22:19–20; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26.

12. Baptism in the Holy Spirit

I believe believers should continually seek the fullness of the Holy Spirit for effective Christian living, bold witness, spiritual growth, and ministry. I believe the Holy Spirit empowers believers and distributes spiritual gifts for the edification of the Church.

Scriptures: Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; Ephesians 5:18; 1 Corinthians 12–14.

13. Spiritual Gifts

I believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are given for the building up of the Church and the advancement of God’s Kingdom. I believe these gifts should always operate under biblical authority, in love, and in an orderly manner that glorifies Christ.

Scriptures: Romans 12:6–8; 1 Corinthians 12; Ephesians 4:11–13.

14. Divine Healing

I believe Jesus Christ still heals according to His sovereign will. I believe divine healing is provided through Christ’s atoning work and is received through faith and prayer. I also believe God works through medical knowledge and other means according to His wisdom.

Scriptures: Isaiah 53:4–5; James 5:14–16; Mark 16:17–18.

15. Angels and Satan

I believe God created angels as ministering spirits to serve His purposes. I believe Satan is a fallen angel who rebelled against God and seeks to deceive humanity. I believe that through His death and resurrection, Jesus Christ has defeated Satan, and that I have authority in Christ to resist the devil.

Scriptures: Hebrews 1:14; Revelation 12:7–12; James 4:7; Colossians 2:15.

16. Marriage and Family

I believe marriage is a sacred covenant established by God between one man and one woman. I believe the family is ordained by God as the foundational institution of society, where children are to be nurtured in the fear and instruction of the Lord.

Scriptures: Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4–6; Ephesians 5:22–33; Ephesians 6:1–4.

17. Christian Stewardship

I believe everything belongs to God, and I am called to faithfully steward my time, talents, spiritual gifts, finances, and possessions for His glory and the advancement of His Kingdom.

Scriptures: Malachi 3:10; 2 Corinthians 9:6–8; 1 Peter 4:10.

18. Evangelism and Missions

I believe I am commissioned to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and make disciples of all nations through personal witness, church ministry, compassion, and global missions.

Scriptures: Matthew 28:18–20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8.

19. The Return of Christ

I believe in the personal, visible, and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ. His return is my blessed hope and will bring the fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan.

Scriptures: John 14:1–3; Acts 1:11; Titus 2:13; Revelation 22:20.

20. Resurrection, Judgment, and Eternity

I believe there will be a bodily resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous. I believe that those who have trusted in Christ will enjoy everlasting life with God in the new heavens and new earth. I also believe that those who reject Christ will face eternal judgment.

Scriptures: John 5:28–29; Daniel 12:2; Revelation 20:11–15; Revelation 21–22.

21. The Kingdom of God

I believe the Kingdom of God is both a present reality and a future fulfillment. I believe Christ reigns in the hearts of His people now, and that His Kingdom will be fully established when He returns.

Scriptures: Matthew 6:33; Luke 17:20–21; Revelation 11:15.

22. My Mission

I exist to glorify God by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, making faithful disciples, teaching the whole counsel of God, equipping believers for ministry, demonstrating Christ’s love through compassionate service, and preparing people for the return of the Lord.

“To Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:21, KJV)
